THE BOYS has come a long way. Starting out at Wildstorm (before they completely merged with DC) and then continuing at Dynamite Entertainment, Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson have given us a world where they didn't have to hold back. Ennis had always planned for the series to be finite and sadly the day has come for the story to end.
The final issue will contain 24 pages of story, 5 pin-up pages of brand new art along with a complete cover gallery.
Here's what Garth Ennis had to say:
Seventy-two issues plus three minis adds up to ninety issues, making this a very busy six years - more than six years, of course, because we very nearly didn't make it. But all's well that ends well. I finished #72 well over a year before it's due to see print, and I've been missing Butcher and Hughie ever since. Goodbye, Boys. I doubt we'll see your like again.== TEASER ==
Here's what Darick Robertson had to say:
The end of The Boys with this issue ends a chapter in my career I will always look back upon as a significant challenge I am proud of the work I've done on the book and will miss it.
The end begins with issue #70, on sale September 26, 2012.
It's been a fun and crazy ride. What's been your favorite moment?
