Each week we like to take a look at some of the best comic book covers. It's always hard to narrow it down to just a few and there always seems to be one or two that manages to slip through the cracks. Here are some of the ones that immediately caught our attention.

David Aja continues his awesome job on the covers to HAWKEYE. You've probably noticed the first series had a purple theme which gave way to red at issue #5. We don't often see so much of one color on a cover but it serves to make the image really pop out.

ALL-STAR WESTERN #17 features a Bill Sienkiewicz cover. I do enjoy his sometimes gritty nature and it fits nicely for a Jonah Hex comic.

Michael Del Mundo has been delivering some really great covers for X-MEN: LEGACY. The cover for issue 6 is no exception. If you know about Legion, you know he has quite a bit going on inside his mind. Each cover has been capturing that and you get a real sense of how crammed it is from the cover. I'm also a fan of word balloons on covers.

Mike Allred's cover to FF #4 really conveys the vibe of this issue. Seeing the Moloid kids making hearts might seem a little odd and seeing Turg make a heart with his tongue is a little disturbing. Sure he doesn't have any hands so you can't really blame him. She-Hulk's reflection and reaction are priceless.

You gotta love the cover to MASKS #4. Alex Ross always makes bold images stand out. The angle and perspective chosen here should also catch your attention. At first you might wonder who these people are but you can see the use of shadows reveals the costumed identities of the characters in this book. This is another cover with a heavy use of a primary color. That really makes the comic pop out on the shelf.

I always enjoy looking at a Francesco Francavilla cover. His cover for LONE RANGER #13 shows a slightly different approach. This time we see the Lone Ranger in a reflection on a gun. If you look back at the other covers in the series, you can see that this one stands apart from the others.

And of course:

That's it for this week. Let us know what covers you loved if we didn't choose your favorite. Feel free to post your choices in the comments below.
