Each week we take a close look at some of the coolest toys and collectibles around. If you're familiar with Sideshow Collectibles, you know they are beyond making toys. Their figures are jam packed with extreme detail. We had the chance to check out some more of the Militaries of Star Wars sixth scale figures.
The first one we're looking at this week is the Sandtrooper.
Seen in Star Wars: Episode IV, these guys always seemed a little tougher than the regular Stormtroopers. They could withstand the heat and didn't mind getting dirty.
The Sandtrooper Deluxe figure is available at Sideshow Collectibles. The detail is amazing. It looks like this guy has been stationed out in the desert for a while. It's great that these figures can actually stand on their own despite coming with a stand.
There are so many options as to how you can position them. You have your choice of guns and pouches to put on. The backpack (survival pack) was a little bit of a pain to get on. Because of the high detail, you have to adjust the tiny straps like a real backpack. One end of the strap actually came undone from the pack so I had to add a tiny bit of superglue to get it reattached. This figure is a little more than the average Military of Star Wars collectible but the added detail and accessories justifies the price.
Here are some more action shots.

Our second hands on look is a Clone trooper but not just a regular trooper, a Republic Clone Captain.
You might have noticed the different colors some of the clonetroopers have. The red is the indication that it is a captain. Clone Captains command companies of four platoons (144 troops).
You can see that detail is put into this figure. There is some damage on the armor. There are 13 interchangeable hands. The addition of the 'action feet' allows for more poses and the hands let you create different scenarios as well.
Check out these action shots.
