Here is something I'm happy to admit. I'm a fan of Chris Daughtry. I will also admit that I managed to catch him when he started out on American Idol. He's a talented dude that can sing and play the guitar. He's also willing to help out those in need (this isn't the first time he's done it).
Last night at a Los Angeles concert, Chris Daughtry announced he's teaming up with DC Entertainment and will become the ambassador for the WE CAN BE HEROES giving campaign. www.WeCanBeHeroes.org
The campaign is designed to raise awareness and funds to fight the worst hunger crisis in 60 years in the Horn of Africa. The announcement was made live onstage to thousands of fans and was followed by the first performance of the WE CAN BE HEROES version of Daughtry's song, "Rescue Me."
As part of the campaign, Daughtry and his band have recorded a new version of the song, which will be posted to iTunes early this summer with all net proceeds donated to the campaign. Daughtry will also incorporate the song into performances on his summer tour.
== TEASER ==Chris had this to say:
I have been a fan of DC Comics’ JUSTICE LEAGUE characters, especially Batman, since I was young and am thrilled to be working with DC Entertainment on their WE CAN BE HEROES charitable campaign. The countries in the Horn of Africa are facing the worst drought in 60 years, causing a severe hunger crisis. WE CAN BE HEROES is doing its part to help fight this crisis and I feel honored to be a part of this campaign.
Here's the album version of "Rescue Me."
